The FXTM Cent account has a very low minimum deposit of $10 ($50 in the EEA). The FXTM Cent account is called its Micro account. The Micro account is one of FXTM's three accounts and offers Instant Execution, it is not an ECN account and does not allow scalping. It uses the MT4 platform, and also a web trader based on MT4. What is a Cent account ?

A Cent account is a type of MetaTrader account. On a Cent account, the account is denominated in cents, rather than dollars. What this means is that the trader can trade with smaller trade sizes than a standard account. For example, a standard micro lot (0.01 lots) becomes 0.0001 standard lots.

Account opening and minimum deposit

FXTM can open accounts for residents of many countries around the world but not for residents of the USA, Japan, Canada and some other countries. Account currencies available are GBP, EUR, USD and NGN. NGN accounts are only available for clients in Nigeria.

Account opening is swift and takes the trader to a dashboard where the platforms can be accessed. The minimum deposit for the Cent account is $/€/£10 and ₦2000 in global markets and $50 in the EEA. As a Cent account, it is denominated in cents, pence or kobo. Margin call is 80% and stop-out is 50%. There is no maximum deposit.

The smallest trade size is micro lots (0.01). However because the account is denominated in cents, then one micro lot is actually worth 0.0001 standard lots (a cent account allows the broker to provide trade sizes smaller than a standard lot). The maximum trade size per trade is 1 standard lot (i.e 100 Standard Cent lots). However there is a maximum number of orders set at 300, with a total maximum order size of 10 lots.

Online trading platforms

The Cent account provides MT4 and a web trader which is based on MT4. FXTM additionally offers its Advanced account which has MT4 and its successor MT5 and offers Forex spreads from 0 pips, plus a commission charge.

Markets

The Micro account supports trading in Forex and Metals. A wider range of markets including Stocks CFDs are offered on its other account types.

Commissions

There are no commissions charged on the Micro (Cent) account.

Spreads and leverage

Spreads are variable. The minimum spread is the highest minimum spread of all the account types offered by FXTM, that is 1.5 pips for EUR/USD under normal market conditions. As a minimum variable spread it can vary higher than this under normal market conditions.

Maximum leverage is at FXTM (FCA or CySEC regulated).

Funding

Deposit methods may include credit/debit cards, China Union Pay, Rietumu Banka, Promsvyazbank, PPF Banka, WebMoney, Skrill, Neteller, Western Union Quick Pay, Payza, Alfa-Click and DotPay but available methods can vary depending on the location of the trader. In the UK, credit/debit card, Neteller, Skrill and Bankwire are available. FXTM does not charge a commission for deposits. FXTM does not charge a commission for withdrawals on the FXTM Virtual Mastercard, China Union Pay, Skrill and Neteller. Fees/commissions are charged for other withdrawal methods.

Summary and grade

The Micro (Cent) account lets the trader trade with small trade sizes and thus allows the trader to trade on a live account with a smaller account size. The minimum deposit for this account is a relatively low $10. FXTM offers a wide range of other account types, thus once the trader has signed up for Micro account, they can add other accounts with higher minimum deposits, including the Advantage and Advantage Plus accounts, which may suit scalpers and those who trade using robots (as well as those who also want to trade on MT5). As an accessible MT4 trading account with a range of features for traders, the Cent account gets a Trader Friendly Grade of A.
